The  Social Justice Centre - OXFAM and SWB supporting activism and participation

It's coming, and will be here very soon. You can get involved with SWB and OXFAM initiatives or with any agency or movement you are interested in... could be Greenpeace, Animal Liberation, Wildlife, small and large animals, RSPCA, conservation, environment, Amnesty, human rights groups, the Edmund Rice Centre for Social Justice, FERN, the Wilderness Society, and so many more...

OXFAM and SWB will bring these to you through the Social Justice Centre. It's first address will be through Students Without Borders at Murdoch University, on Bush Court, the hub of the  university.

THE SOCIAL JUSTICE CENTRE HAS ARRIVED. It has a physical location in the hub of Murdoch University, known as Bush Court. It coloured yellow next to the Guild Shop which has a purple fasciae. The Social Justice Centre, Murdoch is also right next to the lime green Students Without Borders office.

Some 30 non governmental and non profit organisations are working with the Social Justice Centre, Murdoch to offer the student and university community opportunities in community development, social justice causes, the environment, global issues in a diverse range. For many students who will have the opportunity to learn more about other organisations and how they themselves can become involved, for many of these students their contribution, their experience may be recognised in various ways as part of their student experience and as an acknowledgment add on to their higher education.

The Social Justice Centre, Murdoch is a co-operative effort, a work in progress, as is Students Without Borders, between OXFAM Australia and Students Without Borders.

15.11.2007 Vicky Noonan, the SWB Administrator and Sara from OXFAM Australia, along with Paddy Cullen, OXFAM Australia Campaign Manager, and Gerry Georgatos, SWB Co-ordinator and Murdoch Guild General Manager, delivered a presentation to NGOs and NFPs about the coming Social Justice Centre and the opportunity for other organisations to be valued as part of the higher education experience.

The Social Justice, Murdoch will be complete by the end of November 2007 and will be officially launched February of 2008.

Schools in Curtin University have expressed their interest for a Social Justice Centre, Curtin under the developing Students Without Borders. It shall happen and Students Without Borders shall work with Curtin's Centre for Human Rights and the Curtin Guild to ensure this desired outcome.
