About Tux Racer 0.61a
In Tux Racer the player takes on the role of Tux the Linux Penguin as he races down steep, snow-covered mountains. Compete and win on local courses and you will unlock other courses and cup competitions that will lead you to more challenging races. Options for gameplay include: the ability to race courses in fog, at night and under high winds. Other features include:
- 3D courses
- Collect herring while avoiding obstacles for high scores
- Race over a variety of surfaces, including fluffy snow and slick ice
- Create your own courses using any paint program such as The GIMP (no 3D modeller required)
NOTE: Tux Racer requires a graphics card which supports OpenGL and hardware 3D acceleration.
